ETE is a family run business. We have worked hard to develop the skilled, positive and hard-working team which we are so proud of. So, we thought, as you will be working alongside a lot of our team members, why not introduce ourselves? It’s always nice to put a face to a voice at the end of the phone!
Meet Our Production Manager
First on the list is Dan O’Dell. He’s our Production Manager and one of the newest members of the team.
Dan joined us is March 2020 and has quickly become an integral part of the team. He is the guy who is responsible for getting your trusses made mm perfect and out on time! He has a wealth of experience in truss building as he has worked in the industry since leaving school (some 23 years ago he says, we’re not sure he can be that old though).
Over the two decades he has spent working within the truss industry, Dan has learned all aspects of the job. He began with learning the ropes in the factory; cutting, setting and truss manufacture. As he worked his way up through the manufacturing roles, he also became a dab hand at production planning, liaising with customers and problem solving both on site and in the factory. All of which makes him well qualified for the role of production manager.
We asked Dan how he is getting on at ETE since he joined the team:
“It’s going great! Everyone has welcomed me to the team with open arms. I particularly like the small family feel of ETE, having worked for much larger national companies in the past.”
Working in the building industry can be a really high-pressure environment. There can be tight deadlines and many other services to work around, but Dan doesn’t let that phase him.
“As challenging and trying as the building industry can be at times, I don’t ever see me leaving it.”
Tell us more about yourself, Dan
It’s great to know that those who are in charge of getting your trusses produced are well qualified, but if you’re anything like us, you like to know a little more about the person too! So, with that in mind, we just had to ask Dan what he likes to do when he’s not having a blast at work.
“I’m a massive foodie. I like to spend time eating out (although not so much recently!). When I’m not at work, you’ll probably find me in a restaurant.
I’m also keen on shooting so try to find the time for this when I can. Luckily Norfolk is a rural county, so I don’t have to go far to get my fix.
If all else fails I do enjoy a good Netflix series binge or film and if it’s horror, that’s even better!”
