In our latest series of articles, we are shining a light on the fantastic team we have here at ETE Ltd.
Last time, we introduced you to Dan, our Production Manager. Today we are getting to know our Senior Designer, Richard Spragge.
Meet Our Senior Designer
Richard joined the ETE family in March 2019 and honestly, it feels like he has always been here. He fitted in effortlessly and when asked about working together he said; “I really enjoy the team spirit and family orientated atmosphere at ETE.” Which is good to know!
As our senior designer, he is the man with the plan, the one who turns ideas into reality.
Richard has 34 years of experience in the construction industry. 25 of those have been as a truss designer so when we say he is experienced; we really mean it!
In the past, he has been responsible for a range of projects, from small houses to large hospitals, flats and offices. No job is too big or small for our senior designer.
This experience means Richard is well placed to find workable solutions for our clients and talk them through the process in a way you can understand.
We asked Richard what he enjoys most about his role:
“My job is quite varied; it entails a number of different roles which always keeps me on my toes! I really enjoy meeting our clients. I think it’s important to really understand their requirements and needs from the project and this is best done over a cup of tea. Once I know exactly what they want to achieve I can get to work and create the perfect solution.
I especially like it when I have a problem to solve, finding a work around is so satisfying.”
Tell us more about yourself, Richard
We know what you are thinking, ‘sure, he sounds very qualified and is great at his job, but what does he get up to on the weekend?’ Richard, please enlighten us:
“Believe it or not, I am a dab hand at playing the guitar. I like to grab any moment I can to play my favourite songs.
As I am sat behind a desk, designing roof truss solutions for my day job, I like to get my hands dirty on the weekends. I am a keen DIYer and can often be found getting stuck in with some old building maintenance.
Not one to sit around, I also enjoy cycling, pottering around in my garden and having days out with my family.”
